What is Capitol Federal Park at Sandstone?

Capitol Federal Park at Sandstone is an open-air performance venue located in Bonner Springs, Kansas. Opened in 1984 as Sandstone Amphitheater, it is a place where concert fans have been making memories for over twenty years. Audience capacity at Capitol Federal Park at Sandstone is 18,000 people, including approximately 3,100 box and reserved seats.

How do I get tickets?

What vending options do I have?

A variety of food and beverage vendors will be present at Sandstone. Vendor names will be listed on our website soon.

Where will I sit?

Capitol Federal Park at Sandstone is comprised of both reserved and general admission seating. New for 2008 is the "up-front" general admission area located directly in front of the stage. This new area will allow more fans close access to the stage and performers.

Where can I go to buy tickets if I do not want to buy them online or over the phone with Ticketmaster?

If I buy a reserved ticket can I still have access to the GA sections?

Yes, all shows except Jack Johnson, where in which you will need a GA ticket to go to the lower section and is limited to the first 5,000 patrons.

When does the parking lot and gates to the venue open?

Generally the parking lot opens 2 hours prior to the show time and the gates generally open 1 hour prior to show time. Check our website a day or two before the show day for exact opening times.

Are there food items to eat besides the typical concession food?

Yes, we will have several alternative food vendors including BBQ, hand-made hamburgers, and vegetarian choices.

Is there really a $5 beer?

Yes, we will provide you with an opportunity to purchase a $5 beer inside the venue.

Why is the box office not open for purchasing tickets on a regular basis?

We are encouraging online ticket sales to help maintain our green initiatives, reducing the amount of paper produced in ticket stock, and the number of emissions from cars driving to the venue to purchase tickets. However, the box office will be open on day of show for those needing tickets and/or to pick up their will call tickets.

Can I bring anything to sit on in the lower GA section?

No, it is standing only unless you are in the 10 rows of seats that remain in the back of the lower section.

What can I bring into the venue?

  • Blankets (only to be used in lawn area)
  • One bottle of water (sealed) per person
  • Non-professional cameras
  • These could be subject to change per the artist request.

What can't I bring into the venue?

  • No lawn chairs or outdoor furniture
  • No recording devices
  • No glass or metal containers
  • No food, liquor, or drugs
  • No noisemakers or laser pointers
  • No weapons of any kind
  • No vehicles (except those required by the disabled)
  • No animals (except seeing eye dogs)
  • No picnic baskets or coolers
  • No radios, tape and video recorders
  • No bbq grills
  • No umbrellas
  • No strollers and toys that create a disturbance
